It follows a group of military superhumans consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, a Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Gunn then greenlit the project himself when he became CEO of DC Studios.

I’ve always loved the DC universe, and while I think the DCEU has been overly hated, I’ve been very disappointed in several DCEU projects. This series has fantastic characters and is extremely creative.
I think when James Gunn says that superhero movies and TV shows have become too generic, that’s his point
There have been so many superhero movies in the last decade that when people see a new one, they don’t go to the cinema because they think “another superhero movie genius, there have been too many” like them, it’s just a generic action movie (especially the sequels) I think James Gunn is really turning things around and I can’t wait. I also think that because Marvel was so much more popular, DC has a lot of great characters that have been overlooked (by the fans) and I think that if everything at DC is going to work out in the next few years, then the lesser known characters will do well at the box office as long as they can grab people’s attention and really feel special about them.
